Anna is an experienced solicitor who specialises in serious and catastrophic injury and clinical negligence work. Anna spent many years specialising solely in clinical negligence cases, acting for a wide range of clients including adults, children and those lacking capacity. Anna gained experience of a wide variety of claims including orthopaedic, surgical and general practitioner negligence claims.

Anna developed a particular interest in cases involving delay in diagnosis, maternal birth injury and general surgery. Anna also gained considerable experience of adult psychiatric injury claims.

Since 2006 Anna has specialised in both clinical negligence and serious injury claims. Anna acts for clients who have suffered serious and often life changing injuries including multiple orthopaedic injuries and head injuries. Anna has particular experience of fatal accident claims. Anna also represents clients at inquests.

Anna is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), Action for victims of Medical Accidents (AvMA) and Headway.

Interesting Cases

- Anna acted for a number of clients who suffered psychiatric injury as secondary victims following the deaths of their children at the Paediatric Cardiac Unit of Bristol Children's Hospital, recovering a number of awards in excess of £100,000.00.

- Amputation case following failed vascular surgery for periferal vascular disease. Both liability and causation were in dispute throughout the case. Damages of £165,000.00 were recovered.

- A case involving a motorcyclist who survived a normally fatal injury of transected aorta. The client was unable to work or run his small holding. Damages of £255,000.00 were agreed.

- A Fatal accident case of a motorcyclist where liability was in dispute throughout the case. Difficult issues regarding the likely future career of the deceased and earning capacity of his surviving spouse were overcome to reach an agreed settlement of £350,000.00

- Anna assisted in the settlement of a claim involving (at the time) the world's longest surviving total bowel and liver transplant patient. This was a clinical negligence claim arising from negligence at birth, when all but 20cm of the Claimant's intestine was removed after he was delivered with gastroschisis. The Claimant was later injured negligently in the United States following a lumbar puncture which left him paralysed from the waist down. Considerable dispute arose between the claims and the life expectancy of the Claimant. Damages in excess of £2.5 million were eventually awarded
